Weleda Australia shares business changes

After 16 years at the helm of Weleda Australia, David Johnston passes the baton to Charmaine Pichler, the new managing director.

Charmaine joined Weleda Australia fourteen years ago – her background in sales, marketing, manufacturing, and leadership has helped drive profitable growth and brand equity of Weleda to where it is today.

Highlights include building a dynamic marketing team, initiating Australia’s e-commerce business, and increasing and diversifying distribution across channels including pharmacy.

Charmaine has had roles in both business-to-consumer and business-to-business environments at well-respected companies including W.L.Gore & Associates where she was the ANZ Consumer Fabric Manager for the GORE-TEX® brand.

She has always been passionate about reducing our impact on the world around us and spent many years as an eco-diver helping with local projects to monitor and clean up the local underwater environment.

David will continue to be available a few days a week over the next several months, supporting the team through the transition phase and beyond, as needed. 

He’ll be pursuing a Mastery of Business and Empathy with Small Giants Academy this year. His focus will be on developing his writing and other pursuits to contribute to a better world for people and the planet.
