Beauticate appoints Rikki Hodge-Smith managing ed

With Sigourney Cantelo taking some time off for maternity leave following the recent birth of her daughter Luella, the Beauticate founder and editor is thrilled to announce Rikki Hodge-Smith has stepped into the newly-created role of managing editor for the site.

Hodge-Smith is a familiar face in the industry, having worked on titles including DOLLY, CLEO, Primped, and Women’s Fitness. She’s also had previous experience working alongside Cantelo, with Hodge-Smith a beauty intern at Vogue for a year in 2011.

"I'm so excited to join the team at Beauticate - it's a full-circle moment for me having worked with and learned from Sigourney a number of years ago at Vogue,” says Hodge-Smith.

Hodge-Smith’s appointment is not the only new team member news for Beauticate. In a reflection of the site’s continual growth, Beauticate has also recently appointed Analise Gattellaro to the position of brand partnerships manager.

Gattellaro will oversee strategic relationships with clients and agencies. Gattellaro has a strong publishing background, having previously been employed as a key account manager at News Corp working across Vogue, GQ, Vogue Living and Donna Hay.

“I'm thrilled to be on board with Beauticate - it's an exciting time to be part of the business and to be able to offer such relevant and effective integrated content pieces,” says Gattellaro.

Cantelo adds, “It’s fantastic to have Rikki and Analise join Beauticate. We’re so lucky to have such a dynamic and amazing team with a wealth of experience and creativity across beauty, luxury and publishing.

“It’s such an exciting time for the brand and we’re working on some really exciting initiatives for 2016, including the recent launch of our GO-TOs spa and salon directory, the newly re-launched YouTube channel, as well as our product reviews section.”

Hodge-Smith and Gattellaro join the existing editorial staff including beauty writers Claudia De Berardinis and Emily Algar, alongside designer Amanda Chan.
