Introducing Australian Fashion Week's 2024 Changemakers

Launched in 2021, IMG’s Changemakers is a collective of names leveraging fashion as a cultural catalyst and defining the future of Australian fashion.

The program spotlights designers, models, make-up artists, creatives and fashion industry professionals defining Australian fashion’s cultural impact.

The 2024 Changemakers will participate in Australian Fashion Week in various capacities including content integrations, runway shows and programming. 

Introducing this year's Changemakers:

Rumbie Mutisawa

Leading hair educator and stylist in wavy, curly and afro hair, Rumbie has trailblazed a path for hair experts in textured hair in Australia.

Elaine George

Pioneering a new chapter for Australian fashion as the first Indigenous model to appear on the cover of Vogue Australian in 1993, Elaine is a mentor for young indigenous models whilst continuing to model herself.

James Bartle

James is the founder of Outland Denim, the B-corp certified denim brand that provides jobs for women affected by human trafficking.

Kim Russell

Archivist, stylist and creative consultant, Kim has created a multifaceted career globally and is one of Instagram’s preeminent fashion history brains. 

The 2024 Changemakers activations

A dedicated panel discussion, First and Forefront: Changemakers 2024, will feature Kim Russell, Elaine George and James Bartle on Thursday, May 16th at 5pm. 

Rumbie Mutisawa will host a hair masterclass presented by Shark Beauty on Monday, May 13th at 12pm.
