Australia’s biggest beauty review website, beautyheaven.com.au, has announced the winners of its 2020 Glosscar Awards. The annual initiative showcases the best beauty products to hit the shelves in 2019.
This year things were a little different, with votes cast from over 100 V.I.P beautyheaven members, as well as nine industry experts.
The panel included: Amanda Ramsay, over 40s makeup expert and pro-age crusader; Jess Vander Leahy, model, journalist and body positive advocate; Flex Mami, DJ, MTV presenter, model and podcaster; Shev Kelly, global makeup artist; Christina Butcher, the hair behind Hair Romance; Vicki Bramley, beauty director at Australian Women's Weekly; Elise Wilson, beauty editor at OK! and NW; Mahalia Chang, editor at Syrup; and Samantha McMeekin, digital managing editor at beautyheaven.
“This year, we combined the forces of 100 top tier beautyheaven members, with a panel of industry experts to judge the best new launches of 2019. These are the women who use makeup, skincare and hair products, day in and day out; they know what works and what deserves a winning title," McMeekin said.
Winners were selected in 47 categories across makeup, skincare, hair, body and health, hand and feet, natural, perfume, men and mum and baby.
“Australian women have always been savvy pre-shop researchers, and with online orders only growing given the current climate, they’re seeking out the best products across each category now more than ever. The newcomer winners span across all price ranges, with much-loved brands like Benefit, Clinique and Weleda taking out titles, alongside first-time winners such as Lovekins, Lellure and Hunter Labs."
