Australia’s leading female small business operators were celebrated at the 2024 Australian Women’s Small Business Champion Awards, held on August 24th, in Sydney.
The event, hosted by Nine News and TODAY show journalist, Jayne Azzopardi at The Star, brought together over 1,000 attendees from various industries.
Triple Olympic gold medalist, Stephanie Rice delivered an inspirational address on female resilience, drawing parallels between professional sports and small business.
The third annual awards, the only national program recognising female-led small businesses across Australia, crowned over 60 champions from diverse industries.
In the beauty industry, Queensland businesses JadeStart, Bobbie Charles Skin & Cosmetic Clinic, and Lust Minerals won in their respective categories.
The Beauty Services award went to NSW-based, Isabella Loneragan Skin, known for its holistic health approach, bespoke facial treatments, and educational courses.
Other notable winners included Sol Brows & Lashes in Port Melbourne and Jasmine Chaar Makeup in Panania, NSW.
Judging criteria included growth strategies, profitability, innovation, marketing, customer service, and community support.
Steve Loe, Awards Founder and Managing Director of Precedent Productions, praised the winners, stating that “being selected as a Champion of this major event from a national entrant pool of thousands speaks volumes of the tenacity and leadership at each of these female-led small businesses.”
