bdBLOG: February 2

The best explanation of my skin in its current state is to compare it to raisin toast. It can be prettied up with some foundation, or melted butter if you’re going for the toast analogy, but at the end of the day it’s got areas of imperfection unlike its bread-basket neighbour, the even-surfaced Miss. White.

So I decided to try a face peel, a facial I have never tried before, and absolutely loved it. The Skin Organics Natural Face Peel by emerginC was hydrating as well as renewing, and it helped minimise the raisin-sized spots covering my face.

After the peel the redness in my pimples had calmed and my pores were clear. The dead skin cells had been removed, leaving my skin quite luminous and glowing. Being organic, the Skin Organics Natural Face Peel is also suitable for pregnant women.

To keep up my radiant appearance, the therapist suggested I use medium-strength peels at home each month and I’m making a weekly face mask a ritual. A detoxifying one is great to pull out those blemishes, while hydrating and rebalancing the skin.

Some great detoxifying products include ULittleBeauty Detox Your Face Clay Based Facial Cleansing Mask, $29.95; Pod Puraceuticals Liquid Detox, $60; and for the whole body, Synthesis 345 By the Sea - A ‘Detox-ing’ Blend, $11.
