Scientists at UNSW and Harvard Medical School have discovered a natural compound found in fruit and vegetables can help repair DNA damaged by natural ageing and radiation exposure.
The compound dubbed ‘NMN’ can be found in things like avocado and broccoli, and while it has currently only been tested in mice, the study’s lead author David Sinclair has said that “The cells of the old mice were indistinguishable from the younger mice after just one week of treatment.”
Clinical trials on people are due to start Stateside next year, so watch this space.
