A job description posted on the LVMH website a few weeks ago has led to a flurry of speculation that the luxury goods group is about to launch a new beauty brand.
According to multiple sources, LVMH is seeking an experienced manager to lead the development of a start-up, specifically, "a new beauty brand within [the group’s] perfume and cosmetics division." The description described the ideal candidate as being someone who is “attuned to environmental issues,” in order to “take part in the development of new, sustainable solutions,” which suggests that the range in question is likely to have an eco-friendly positioning.
A second job ad seeking a junior product manager appears to be for the same project and all but confirms the new brand.
LVMH currently owns the likes of Givenchy Parfums, Guerlain, Benefit, Make-Up For Ever and Fenty Beauty. It also owns beauty retailer Sephora. A clean beauty brand would be the first of its kind on the compnay's portfolio.
