Glossier is expanding one of its cult product lines, launching not one but two new shades of Lip Gloss. The clear addition was launched back in 2016, and ever since then has become a staple for the brand, and three years later colour options are now available in Red, a sheer red-apple tint and Holographic, a subtle rose-gold shimmer.
Teasing the release on Instagram, with a picture of Michelle Obama wearing the red gloss to Essence Festival over weekend, the post has sent Glossier fans into a spin.
"For her lips, I applied Make Up For Ever’s Artist Nude Creme Liquid Lipstick, under Glossier’s new Lip Gloss in Red,” Obama’s longtime makeup artist, Carl Ray told Into the Gloss. “I like to apply cream liquid lipstick for longevity, and then add gloss on top for that shine and moisture.”
The formulation stays true to the original, with a lush, moisturising and not at all sticky finish, thanks to conditioning jojoba oil and ultra-moisturising vitamin E.
The two new additions will be launching on Glossier.com Tuesday July 9, and will retail for US$14.
