Bonnie Gillies, owner of popular beauty website, Oz Beauty Expert, is excited to announce the launch of her first makeup product – a face palette that contains five eyeshadows, as well as a blush, bronzer and illuminate.
The new palette, called Basics by B (@basics_byb), was designed with the everyday woman in mind. According to Gillies, the easy-to-use palette contains vivid, highly pigmented colours that will suit every skin tone, eye and hair colour, and age.
“I'm not trying to compete with the big brands, and I know that makeup is somewhat of a saturated market,” Gillies told BD. “I'm just trying to cater for my audience who have been following me for the past few years. This way, they can buy the product and each week get new ideas on how to use it, encouragement to try colours they usually wouldn’t, and constantly be refreshing their look with the fresh content I’m posting.”
Gillies revealed she came up with the idea after noticing that her most popular content was helpful basic makeup looks, with the most questions being asked about makeup.
“Loads of women struggle to get it right, and to know which colours to use, and which colours/looks will suit them,” she said.
The beauty expert has also custom-blended every single shade herself, after providing manufacturers with her favourite products to help create the perfect formulas.
“You will notice the eyeshadows (even the mattes) are super soft and pigmented, the bronzer is a great all-rounder colour, and the blush is not too peach and not too pink. It's smack bang in the middle of both.”
