Beauty influencer and professional freelance makeup artist, Patrick Starrr, recently announced that he will be launching his very own beauty brand – One/Size – aptly named after Starr’s popular mantra that “makeup is a one-size fits all.”
Since January 1, the beauty guru has been asking his social media followers to film themselves saying this phrase. And although the reasoning was unclear at the time, fans from all over the world happily obliged. Now, the influencer has collated and used these clips as an Instagram campaign to promote the new beauty brand.
“One/Size is a love letter from me to you,” Starr said on his Instagram story. “Makeup is a one-size fits all and I truly believe that…that sits behind this brand. And it’s a full-on cosmetics brand that I’m so excited for you guys to see.
This is all for you, for all my queens, for all my LGBTQ+ family, for all my POCs – I love you and I’m so excited to see every launch.”
In the seven years since Starrr uploaded his first YouTube video, the influencer has evolved into one of the beauty industry’s leading voices. Having previously paired with MAC Cosmetics in 2017 which led to further collaborations, it seems realistic that a solo line was the natural next step.
Starrr built his new brand in partnership with Luxury Brand Partners, the incubator behind renowned beauty brands such as Oribe. Reportedly in the works for years, One/Size will be available exclusively at Sephora from July 17.
“One/Size is diversity, variety, for everyone,” Patrick told WWD.“This is an overweight, bald, Asian American man. But I’ve somehow been able to break through the glass ceiling to be celebrated. It is all-encompassing diversity and I think that is gonna be something special to Luxury Brand Partners and Sephora.”
