A new study has revealed a theory called “left-side bias” – the notion that our brains register the left side of our face as more attractive.
The study carried out by senior lecturer at La Trobe University Annukka Lindell examined 2,000 selfies to see which side of the face featured more.
Findings went on to show that 42 per cent of participants preferred the left side. Why? Because it’s been explained that the left side of the face is controlled by the right hemisphere of the brain, which is also in control of a person’s emotions.
It went on to continue explaining that essentially the left side of our face shows more emotion, which is why we see it as our best side, and thus featured in all our best selfies.
