This cult oughties brand is launching cosmetics

In the midst of an early 2000s trend resurgence (hello banana clips, bucket hats and lipgloss) one iconic noughties brand is launching its first foray into makeup.

While Juicy Couture is famously known for its velvety, velour tracksuits, the brand has announced its first move into the colour cosmetics market with the launch of an eyeshadow palette, lipsticks and eyeliner.

The collection is set to be inspired by the brand’s latest fragrance – Oui – and will take cues from the scent’s “independent spirit”; with some references to the Paris Hilton-wearing past thrown in for good measure.

In the first released photos of the makeup line, it appears the five-strong lipstick range will come in 2000s-appropriate frosted finishes; and the eyeshadow palette will feature iconic Juicy Couture colours of baby pink, teal and gold. Additionally, Juicy Couture is releasing “Lip Lusters” – a range of lip glosses – and Lip + Eye Topper – a gold glitter.

Thanks to the likes of trend setting juggernauts The Kardashians, Juicy Couture has seen a resurgence over the past few years.

The collection will launch in the US at the beginning of this month with an Australian release date yet to be announced. We will update BD as more information is made available.
