Bauer divests five titles under new structure

After taking over as CEO at Bauer Media in the middle of the year, Nick Chan has begun to make his first big moves into restructuring the company. After last week revealing he was splitting the business into five key sectors, Chan has announced Bauer will be selling five of its Adventures titles in a move to further streamline the business.

“In line with our strategy of focusing resources and investment on five key consumer and customer segments, we have taken the decision to sell the Adventures titles. This allows us to concentrate our efforts on Trader’s motoring and industry brands where we hold leadership positions and see the opportunity for significant future growth,” says Chan.

General manager of the Adventures publications, Robert Gallagher, has joined with a group of investors to purchase the five Bauer titles. Publications sold include Caravan World, Camper Trailer Australia, Motorhome and Caravan Trader, Travelin and Turu.

Gallagher comments: “The Adventures business has a rich heritage based on inspiring and credible content and we see that as a terrific platform from which to build a highly successful business. Unlike investing in a start-up, the Adventures Group begins day one with the existing team of talented people, our well respected brands and established client relationships across the caravan, camping and regional tourism markets."
