Bumble launches women-first networking arm ‘Bumble Bizz’

Fed up with male-dominated industries and the difficulty women face networking due to gender imbalance, Bumble founder Whitney Wolfe launched Bumble Bizz.

Bumble Bizz is an extension of the original Bumble where people can swipe left or right on potential networking opportunities. The app is a space Bumble hopes users will be able to safely network, find connections and mentors.

Current ambassadors for the app include Pacific Magazines GM Jackie Frank, Mon Purse CEO Lana Hopkins and Instagram influencers and business owners Elle Ferguson, Nadia Bartel, Alex Lee and Laura Henshaw.

“By launching Bizz, we are continuing to evolve the Bumble brand. From dating to friendship and now business, we are ensuring our users can connect with like-minded people in all facets of their lives. Love, friendship, networking, these are all the foundations for a happy, meaningful life. We want to empower our users to make the first move, take the opportunities Bumble presents them and go after these connections in a positive way,” said Bumble’s country lead for Australia Michelle Battersby at the launch on Tuesday.

“This is an amazing time to be launching Bizz in Australia. I’m incredibly proud to announce that we have just reached one million Australian downloads, with our download rate quadrupling in the last year. Australia is our fourth largest market with the fastest growing user base globally, and we expect the launch of Bizz to propel the Bumble brand even further in this market.”
