BEAUTYDIRECTORY reported in May that Kylie Cosmetics was looking at potential buyers and investors, and now it seems the brand may be moving closer to a transaction after all.
According to one well-placed source, the brand is in talks with Coty Inc. to sell a stake, perhaps 51 per cent or more, as reported by WWD. The price being discussed is at least $600 million, the source said.
Kardashian matriarch, Kris Jenner has long been open to the idea of selling the business. When rumours of deal conversations were circulating earlier this year, Jenner, through a spokeswoman, said that the company’s success has been “incredible” and because of that, “there will always be some interest.”
On top of the reported sale, Kylie Jenner's beauty empire, which recently expanded to skin, is also said to have upcoming plans to launch into hair and baby products.
