Ella Baché CEO, Pippa Hallas, has always looked to her great aunt for inspiration when it comes to the running of her company, one of the world's most-loved skincare brands. And it's Madame Baché, the woman who fled war-torn Europe to start her beauty enterprise, who ultimately motivated Hallas to write her new book: Bold Moves.
Hallas began writing Bold Moves following a particularly intense period in her career. On the one hand, it was a chance for her to share Baché's incredible story and impart some of the knowledge that has helped Ella Baché become the success it is today.
Throughout her journey, however, Hallas has happened upon countless other remarkable women who have paved their own way to success, so why not share their learnings too? Enter Lorna Jane Clarkson, Kym Ellery, Layne Beachley and many more, who share some of their best advice through conversations with Hallas in the book.
Talking to BEAUTYDIRECTORY about the process of writing Bold Moves, Hallas said: "It was an amazing process for me. What I learnt, just from connecting to other women and writing about Ella, were lessons that even I haven't properly crystallised in my own mind before."
For example, Hallas explained, it was the surprising way they created these big lives for themselves. Even at the beginning of building a business it was less take and more give – and being gracious, she said.
Bold Moves provides tools to help people push themselves in every aspect of life. Hallas talks to the importance of the people we surround ourselves with, maintaining and authentic voice and in doing that, building a personal legacy.
Hallas is a business woman who understands the importance of championing other women. Bold Moves is about female shared experiences and she hopes that everyone from financiers, to artists and gymnasts will find value in her words.
Bold Moves is out now and can be purchased here.
