L’Oréal has been recognised as number one among French CAC 40 companies for its efforts in gender equal recruitment. Its accolade as a leader in gender equality and for its efforts to employ women come following L’Oréal’s increase in female executives.
Speaking on the achievement, L’Oréal chairman and CEO Jean-Paul Agon said: “Gender diversity, like any form of diversity, has always been a strategic priority for L’Oréal because it is a source of innovation and acceleration of performance in the company.
“The Grand Prix rewards a proactive policy initiated more than 15 years ago and whose objective is to achieve parity at all levels of the organisation.”
Currently women represent 69 per cent of L’Oréal’s 82,600 employees worldwide; 33.3 per cent of its executive committee; and 46 per cent of its board of directors.
L’Oréal has also been working with the French national institute for demographic studies to analyse pay gaps. The company currently has a less than three per cent pay gap for management, and a non-existent pay gap for all other employee categories.
