Alpha-H owner and director Michelle Doherty has taken home the title of Gold Coast Woman in Business of the Year. Doherty founded the Australian skincare brand after being frustrated with market offerings that failed to perform, and the company continues to expand in a challenging economic climate.
“The experience is a great way of reflecting on all of the hard work you have put into your business, all the challenges you have overcome and all that you have achieved,” says Doherty about the award. “It acknowledges that you have learned the hard lessons and used them to improve the business.”
Doherty won the award on October 31 at Palazzo Versace, edging out 149 entries in seven categories.
“Our customers and their needs are always at the forefront of our decisions and I believe that this is at the root of our continued success,” adds Doherty. “This has allowed us to explore various methods of cost saving, which has seen the implementation of our very own manufacturing facility. Not only has this allowed us to employ more people, but also have the flexibility and control to meet market demand.”
