Tribe spreads its wings overseas

Local business Tribe has announced it will be spreading its wings and launching in the international domain after amassing $5.4 million in capital raising from investors. The creation of media personality Jules Lund, the company is an influencer marketing technology platform that was named Mumbrella’s Advertising Technology Company of the Year in June.

Despite only launching 12 months ago, Tribe has already gained 4500 influencers and worked with more than 500 brands, garnering international interest. It is expected the company will generate more than $1 million in business for Aussie influencers in this year alone – of which Tribe will take 20 per cent of revenue.

Lund believes now is the time to strike with influencer interest rife. He tells Mumbrella that today’s economy has offered “the greatest opportunity in history to drive word-of-mouth marketing at scale.” The business has explored 53 different markets, with Singapore, the UK, Germany, France, Ireland and Brazil a priority.

Chief executive Anthony Svirskis says international expansion will begin in early 2017: “Every day we have influencers, brands and agencies contact us from around the world wanting to utilise our platform. While the demand is encouraging, our investment decisions will always be supported by quantifiable metrics.

“Timing is critical in that it’s such a fast-moving space, so we wanted to be sure we have the opportunity to capitalise on the strong, early traction in Australia and take our product to new markets. Because of the product we have built we already deal with international clients and influencers, the platform can be used widely and not constricted by the boundaries of Australia.”
