2019 is undoubtedly the year of the celebrity beauty line. So far, we've had filed trademarks, hints and full-on launches from the likes of Hailey Bieber, Lady Gaga, Serena Willaims, Selena Gomez, Kylie Minogue and pretty much every Kardashian.
Now it's the turn of Millie Bobby Brown. Yes, the teenage star of Netflix's Stranger Things. She is launching a range of Gen Z makeup called Florence by Mills which will be sold at Ulta Beauty, Boots in the UK and online. Details about the actual products are unknown, however WWD reports that they will be PETA-certified, cruelty-free, vegan and priced between $10 and $34 US dollars.
"I’ve been in a makeup chair since I was 10, 11 years old, and I have really been introduced to all types of products. I’ve had special effects on my face, blood, all different types of foundation…I wanted to come into the space because there was a gap in the market for young people,” Brown said. “I guess I could never find anything that I liked to put on my face and it felt good."
“There are multiple different products I’ve put on that weren’t good for me. Some of those were antiaging, and I was 10 years old.”
The message behind the line is simply “be good” for Gen Z’s skin, reports WWD.
The makeup range is named after the actresses great-grandmother, Florence, and her own nickname, Mills. The reason being that she wants to get personal with her consumers: "I want my fans to think we have a relationship, we've known each other close to three years...I wanted to make them feel like it was a personal mesaage -- you have the honor of calling me my nickname," Brown said.
