bdBLOG: Kate Middleton shows she’s human

For the most part, I envy Kate Middleton. I really think I could enjoy her princess lifestyle, her worldly experiences, her access to basically any designer frocks she wishes…

But then I read articles such as this one [linked] on The Cut, which is headlined, Kate Middleton’s Famous Hair Is Now Flecked With Silver”, referring to a couple of alleged grey hairs spotted in the Duchess’ roots. Now I know The Cut is taking a light-hearted approach to this news” (in fact, The Cut’s jovial stabs at sartorial news is part of the reason I love it so much), but I still can’t help but feel icky seeing this on the New Yorker’s fashion blog. At 30 years old, it is normal for Middleton to have some grey hairs, but reporting on a couple of strands they can literally count on one hand” is just plain unnecessary in my opinion.

I thought I was overreacting, until I read some of the comments on the site that also suggested the blog is in poor taste. SAMVT wrote, You guys have too much time on your hands”, while MARE_S says, this is pathetic, and verging on insane.”

While The Cut’s report on the image can mostly be written off as all being just a bit of fun, I’m not sure I can get on board with it – even if it does bring the woman back down to earth just a little bit.

What do you think? Am I overreacting, or does this bother you too?
