Although I’ve never been the biggest fan of Pink’s music, there’s something about the songstress that makes her very appealing to me. I don’t know if it’s her down-to-earth attitude or her not-so-subtle jabs at stupid girls”, but something about the girl has me interested, regardless of whether or not I tune into her music.
In a move I certainly didn’t see coming, Pink has signed on as the newest face of COVERGIRL. The songstress joins the likes of Taylor Swift, Drew Barrymore, and Sofia Vergara as a face of the cosmetics brand.
Joining a group of women who have always inspired me – to laugh out loud, let my guard down, or play around with my beauty look – is such an honour,” Pink said in a press release.
COVERGIRL vice president and general manager Esi Eggleston Bracey says the brand loves the singer’s energy and confidence. Pink is a powerful and provocative role model, who has always been an advocate of individualism and making no apologies for who you are… She’s an awesome addition to our COVERGIRL family.”
I agree whole-heartedly with Eggleston Bracey’s description of Pink. I think her attitude is a refreshing addition to the world of beauty advertising. Anyone that can successfully replace a letter of their name with an exclamation mark clearly isn’t going to conform to boring make-up looks. Let’s hope COVERGIRL lets Pink’s famous personality show through in their campaigns!
