She has been snapped up as the face of and Yves Saint Laurent, and Cara Delevingne’s 15 minutes of fame shows no chance of running out any time soon. It has been released today that Delevingne is the face of Topshop's Autumn/Winter 15 campaign, making history as the brand’s first ever solo model.
The 21-year-old model was styled by Topshop’s creative director and former British Vogue fashion editor Kate Phelan for the series of 12 campaign images, shot by photographer Alasdair McLellan.
"Cara is a true Topshop girl. Her style is confident and playful and she can be sophisticated and chic as easily as she can be cool and casual," says Phelan. "Putting her spin on everything, she makes the Topshop collection her own. Her uninhibited natural energy is intoxicating, she is free-spirited and fun."
Topshop’s owner Sir Philip Green told WWD: Although she’s only 21, she looks more grown up and sophisticated in the clothes - I love how she looks in the product. She appeals to our core customer - and she ticks all the boxes for us.”
The new campaign coincides with a phase of international growth for the brand. Five new stores are set to open in the US, including a flagship store on New York’s 5th Avenue, as well as stores in Amsterdam, Hong Kong, Egypt, New Zealand, and Panama.
