Beauty brand, Glossier as officially named its first-ever celebrity partner, since launching in 2014. Who's the lucky one? None other than pop-princess, Olivia Rodrigo.
The news isn't a complete shock, Rodrigo's love for Glossier has been known for some time. Most recently, donning a full face of Glossier for her big night at the Grammys.
"Olivia had been a fan of the brand prior to the partnership, so we reached out pretty early on as her star was rising to see if she’d be interested in partnering with us," said Glossier chief marketing officer, Ali Weiss.
"We found an immense amount of alignment between her own come-as-you-are ethos and our look-good, feel-good approach, and it just came together."
The announcement was made with Rodrigo starring in a new Glossier campaign called 'You Look Good,' the start of a long-term partnership that will include a curated set of her favourite Glossier products called, you guessed it, Olivia’s Favorites, as well as collaborations on events, content, and custom offerings.
"Beauty has always been a way for me to express myself," Rodrigo told Vogue. "I’m still figuring out what works for me."
"I imagine that’ll continue to change as I get older, but that’s what’s fun about it – getting to grow up with your beauty, style, and routine, and, most importantly, having your own relationship with it and not worrying about what others say or think."
In joining forces with Glossier, Rodrigo seeks to encourage her following to embrace beauty that "emphasises what you got" while also reconsidering the rules.
