Marc Jacobs is spot on with latest fragrance

He may have just announced he is doing a cosmetics line, but that doesn’t mean is resting on his laurels when it comes to his popular fragrance business.

The designer has revealed he will be launching a new scent in July called Dot, which features a bottle reminiscent of a ladybird with polka dots.

We keep calling them sisters. Lola is Daisy’s sister, and now Dot is their sister,” Jacobs told WWD. One design that I always go back to in some way is the dot. I felt this bottle would open itself up to many, many permutations and we can have a lot of fun with it. The visual is always very important.”

The scent was created with Firmenich’s Annie Buzantian and consultant Ann Gottlieb and was intended to be charming and spirited. It has top notes of red berries, dragon fruit and honeysuckle; middle notes of jasmine, coconut water and orange blossom and base notes of vanilla, driftwood and musk.

There’s a juicy, lush quality to it because it felt like the right spirit for this bottle. It’s almost like a butterfly or a ladybug landing on a leaf,” says Jacobs.

The print campaign features model Codie Young holding the bottle.
