beautyheaven.com.au gets a makeover

beautydirectory’s consumer-focused sister site, beautyheaven, has launched a fresh new look today. The third image-change in the site’s five-year history, the revamp seeks to give readers a cleaner, less cluttered design that is much easier to navigate.

As well as introducing new lighter, brighter colours with more white space, the makeover also includes several new features designed to showcase the most popular areas of the site. Among other things, the site gives users the opportunity to search beautyheaven’s extensive database of products and reviews from every page.

The redesign also provides site members with more prominent access to forum discussions and offers more space on the homepage to showcase new beauty products, blogs, how-tos and features. beautyheaven is also introducing a new Beauty Buzz” feed, which gives beauty brands the chance to feature their latest offers and product launches on the beautyheaven homepage.

Laura Simpson, online manager at beautyheaven, said: We write about makeovers every day, so we thought it was about time we had one of our own. We wanted to give beautyheaven a clean, magazine-style feel while highlighting the areas of the site that we know our readers love, which are our blogs, our huge database of products and reviews, and our vibrant forum discussions.”

We listened to reader feedback about the site being too cluttered in places and used user behaviour data to make changes that we hope our visitors will really enjoy,” Simpson says.

beautyheaven has also redesigned its weekly newsletter to coincide with the new site launch, which will be sent out to its database of subscribers this week.

The redesign is the first of a series of changes beautyheaven visitors can expect to see over the coming months. The publisher also plans to launch a mobile-optimised version of the new-look site this winter and is developing new functionality to make its vast product database even more useful and searchable for consumers looking to research beauty products before they buy them.
