Eagle-eyed Internet sleuths have spotted yet another Instagram feature that appears to be in testing.
This time, it's a special 'Invites' sticker that can be used in Stories to share events with followers and let them RSVP directly in the app. The feature includes an event title, date and location, alongside the RSVP button, and would mirror the existing Countdown and Poll stickers.
According to reports, college and high school students in the US are already using Instagram to organise events and the Invites sticker is a direct response to that user behaviour.
It's thought the feature could be particularly beneficial to brands looking to share exclusive events with select groups of people such as VIP customers or media and influencers. Given the ability to create close friends lists on the app, the possibilities are seemingly endless.
It's unclear when the feature will be rolled out, or even what form it will eventually take, but it clearly serves as another way for the social platform to continue connecting multiple users to each other.
