Make-over apps boost brand profiles

Beauty apps are not only proving a popular tool for killing time, but a powerful way for brands to extend their audience reach, whether an individual brand creation or a cross-collaboration with a pre-existing development.

Business development director of app Perfect365 Vince Hsu told Cosmetics Design that app use is growing dramatically, with more than 250 million digital makeovers utilised on the app per month. The brand predicts this will help beauty sales rise by 20 per cent in the next three years.

But what exactly is the connection between virtual make-overs and beauty sales? Brand awareness and education says Hsu. He comments: “It’s a platform that can extend a brand’s online, in-store and app presence and allow brands to offer their users a truly engaging experience from the comfort of their mobile devices.

“With so many make-up options available to consumers, imaging technology can give the ability to access many different looks at a low cost before finding the right one. In addition, it allows the beauty industry to reach a much greater number of consumers in a shorter period of time.”
