As the health and wellbeing industry continues to boom, so too are those apps based around these activities. In March this year, Statista released research on the most popular categories in the Apple App Store - with health and fitness found sitting in the top 10 categories of downloaded apps.
Downloaded more times than music, photo and video, and social networking apps, the health and fitness category is clearly engaging mobile users across the globe. Tapping into the potential offered by this category is AirActive - a new fitness digital marketplace that was launched by founder and CEO Emmanuel Goutallier at Bennelong Restaurant in Sydney last night.
Appealing to the 85 per cent of Australians who won't commit to a gym membership, AirActive allows consumers to search for and book fitness classes, sessions, or personal trainings on a casual basis without having to commit to a long term membership. As the app's website states: "We're providing flexibility and choice to those with an active lifestyle." The app currently offers over 15,000 unique activities every week.
Discussing the app, former The Bachelor contestant Tim Robards states: “I’m passionate about encouraging Australians to reach their fitness goals and believe the best way to achieve this is through a multi-discipline approach, which AirActive encourages.”
Sporteluxe founder Bianca Cheah adds: “I’m always quick to adopt any technology that makes my life easier. I was immediately drawn to the ability to join an activity at a time and place that suits my lifestyle.”
After many months of behind-the-scenes work, the app is now available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store by searching for "AirActive".
