New app Flossie Concierge is working to prevent this dilemma - providing on-demand hair and beauty services that can be requested, booked and paid for via your mobile phone.
To use Flossie Concierge, simply open the app and type in what you would like done, your preferable dates and location. Flossie Concierge will send out your request to all the Flossie-approved salons that meet your request. The salons then respond with times and dates to fit the request, with responses returned directly to the user’s phone.
Explaining why she decided to develop the app, chief Flossie Jenene Crossan reveals, I don’t make bookings in advance. I have no idea where I’ll be in a few days time, let alone six weeks time when my next hair cut is ‘due’. We’re all living in a more fast-paced, instant-gratification world and the reality is that I don’t decide that I want it done until I really NEED it.
I thought about what the issue was – for me, as a customer. And then I thought about what my ideal solution would be. The answer was ‘not do the work’. I couldn’t help but feel that if I was the customer, why am I having to ring around finding out who’s free – if I’m spending the money? Shouldn’t I just be able to stick my hand up and say, ‘OI! I need this, who wants me?’”
