After reporting earlier this week that vloggers were beating major brands when it came to beauty-related video views on YouTube, new stats have revealed quite how prolific the popularity of online beauty tutorials really is.
With beauty tutorials clocking up 700 million hits a month, a survey by vouchercloud.com found 41 per cent of British women choose to watch online beauty tutorials to pick up their tips and tricks. A further 61 per cent of those women went on to reveal that they regularly tune in to a beauty channel.
The commercial value of online beauty videos is extremely high, with 38 per cent of UK women saying they would buy products featured in the video.
The highest viewed beauty videos include how-to’s on smokey eye, contouring, highlighting, fancy dress make-up, and eyebrow pencilling.
