Yahoo launches a new beauty website

Yahoo pressed the green button on its digital beauty magazine Yahoo Beauty yesterday, which sees beauty magnate Bobbi Brown step into a new role as editor-in-chief of the vertical. Managing editor Britt Aboutaleb, along with a handful of reporters and freelancers, will help Brown deliver fresh content to the site on a daily basis.

As part of Yahoo’s relaunch, Yahoo Beauty will focus on both beauty and wellness with product reviews and interviews with influential women making up part of the offering. About 20 to 40 per cent of the content will include stories from partners including Vogue.com, Allure.com, Refinery29 and TheCut.

At Yahoo Beauty, you’ll find a mix of concrete information with inspirational images and stories. As a searcher of answers and solutions to everyday problems, I am excited to be able to call on the smartest experts in beauty, wellness, and fitness to share their advice with you,” says Brown.

We will also feature some of the people who inspire me most. Their beauty stories will explore everything from how they stay feeling and looking great to how they’ve overcome challenges in their own lives. We’ve found some of the coolest, bravest, most radiant people to inspire you.”

Yahoo Beauty will offer strong visuals, with the site including photography from Henry Leutwyler and Ben Ritter. It’s going to be a visually beautiful site. I’m lucky because I get to do what I want to do: create content. I don’t really know a lot about this industry but I’m diving in,” Brown told WWD.
