Entertainment and lifestyle website, Yahoo7 Be has announced it will be rebranded as Yahoo Lifestyle from October 2018. The move is part of a ‘global realignment,’ with the brand hoping to move closer to a global entertainment and lifestyle offering.
Launched in 2016, the website’s initial plan was for Australian personalities to partner with Yahoo7 to create and publish approximately 150 pieces of video and social-driven content per week.
Yahoo7’s acting head of Be and head of lifestyle, Aletha Wilkinson will continue to lead the new website, reporting directly to Yahoo7’s director of content, Simon Wheeler.
The rebranded site will build on its current celebrity and entertainment content, but it will more closely resemble the look of global Yahoo Lifestyle brand.
“The success of Yahoo7 Be since launch is testament to our incredible team of in-house journalists and content creators producing a genuine destination site for this hard-to-reach and valuable demographic,” Wheeler said.
“Aligning with an international brand like Yahoo Lifestyle offers us a great opportunity to leverage a well-known brand and access exciting developments for our roadmap that will allow us to offer our audience and advertisers something truly unique within a very crowded market.”
