David Jones, Australia’s premium department store, has officially announced that they’re tapping into the sexual wellness and health space. The department store hosted a Valentine’s Day pop-up with Australian sexual wellness brand, Frenchie, giving shoppers the opportunity to check out Frenchie’s bestselling dual motor flexible vibrator, The Double Entendre, and its brand new small but powerful mini vibrator, The Petit Eiffel, in person.
The exclusive pop-up, located on the 4th floor of David Jones’ flagship Elizabeth St store in Sydney, earned significant interest from customers, who were excited to browse the range of high-quality sex toys and intimate products. The event made a bold statement, showing that the typically conservative department store is ready to cosy up with these bedroom faves.
To celebrate the launch, Frenchie hosted an intimate event in the styling suites of David Jones. The event, which was attended by 25 guests, including journalists and influencers, was hosted by Frenchie’s Professeur of Pleasure, Sexuality Coach & Sex Educator, Eleanor Hadley. Hadley shared her top tips on using Frenchie’s pleasure and play products, giving guests an exclusive insight into the brand's philosophy and approach.
The event was catered by Catering Project, which served canapes and finger food and La Renaissance Bakery croissants and French macarons. Piper Heidsieck champagne was also on offer, adding to the sophisticated intimacy of the event.
Frenchie’s debut into the retail space indicates a significant shift within the landscape, as more and more mainstream retailers embracing sexual wellness products as a legitimate category.
