On Monday, March 4th, PayPal Melbourne Fashion Festival kicked off, with non-other than Australian Icon Elle Macpherson gracing the runway after almost 15 years.
Showcasing beloved Australian brands, Viktoria & Woods, Aje, and Bianca Spender PayPal set the tone for its premium runway series, due to take place over the festival.
Having all had a huge impact on the global fashion industry, Macpherson amongst these iconic labels, was said to be a true celebration of classic Australian design and craftsmanship.
On the eve of her 60th birthday, Macpherson reminded us that classic beauty and timeless design is always in style.
“Elle was fabulous – so excited that we were able to bring her back to the catwalk for the PayPal Runway. What an Australian icon! Such an inspiration,” said PayPal senior director of consumer engagement, Shane Capron.
“This year the PayPal runway is all about celebrating the success of Australian fashion brands that have achieved success on the global stage – just like Elle.”
“Not only is Elle an Australian who became a world-famous supermodel, she is also an incredible businesswoman who has launched globally successful brands,” said Capron.

Almost half (45%) of PayPal’s Australian fashion business customers use PayPal to sell to international audiences, leveraging the trust that buyers across the world have in PayPal.
The runway series is set to continue each night until March 9th, showcasing the very best in Australian Fashion.
