Who: Romance Was Born
When: 9:00pm, May 14, Hubert Restaurant
Hair: Renya Xydis for Wella Professional
Hair look:
“The theme of the show is Greek Goddess – but when we listened to the music and read the brief the theme is more Greek/French. And while the theme is Greek goddess we wanted to bring it back to now; so it’s very nouveau-deco. We’ve done quite deco hair with a nod to the 20s but also with a lot of shine and glitter. Every girl is different and we have a lot of head pieces – but we haven’t gone crazy with the wigs. Last year there were lots of wigs and this year we’ve paired it back and made it a bit more editorial.
All of the accessories we’ve put in the hair (like the headbands and hair pieces) are gold, but there’s only 15 looks so we’ve done 15 different hairstyles.
The hero products we’ve used are the Wella Hairspray, Ocean Spray and Glam Mist.”
Make-up: Alphie Sadsad for Sephora with Artistic Direction by Peter Beard
Make-up look:
“The air of the look is very 1920s, very glamorous, but with a modern twist. The look itself is being done so that every girl has a graphic eye – it’s quite dark, but every eye look has a splash of colour. The eyeshadow colours we’re largely focusing on are the blues and yellows, with hints of pinks and coloured mascaras. There’s also lots of diamontes to draw light to the look.
With the lip it isn’t structured, the colour is being diffused out towards the edges. We’re using three different reds to achieve this look – a warm red, a blue red and a metallic red. The hero product today is the Sephora Lip Stain.
Peter [Baird] has designed an eye concept called ‘butterfly’, because it’s created using different colours imprinted on foil that is then folded in half and pressed on beside the eye – similar to how you would create butterfly paintings in pre-school.
With the skin we’ve used a lot of illuminators – with a base of Sephora Glow Foundation – because the venue is quite dark so we want the skin to shine.”
