With research by Beauty Expo Australia finding the salon market has grown by an estimated 5.8 per cent over the last five years, professional beauty in Australia is going from strength to strength. In fact, Euromonitor International recently reported cosmeceutical anti-ageing brands will experience so much growth over the next year, they could potentially create a skincare category of its own.

“Consumers are more savvy and knowledgeable than ever before. They understand what ingredients work and also that percentages of active ingredients are important to achieving your desired skin outcomes - they also know that active products can only be found within a professional environment,” says Mia Cassin, media manager at True Solutions - the home of Elizabeth Arden Pro, glō.minerals, glō.therapeutics, Decleor Paris, HydroPeptide, Priori, Omnilux, and True Solutions.

“The internet definitely has a place for people who are time-poor and can’t get into a salon, however, consumers need to be aware that when buying professional cosmeceuticals they contain active ingredients, they really need to be prescribed by a skincare professional who can do a full skin consultation and ascertain the desired outcomes wanted by the consumer.”
