Pop sensation Justin Bieber is making his debut into the fragrance market not with a male scent, but with a female perfume … with distinctly heart-themed packaging. The fragrance, called Someday, is described as a fruity gourmand” formula, which is meant to appeal to the Bieber’s 14- to 18-year-old fan base, according to Noreen Dodge, executive vice president of marketing at Give Back Brands, the producer and licensee of the scent.
The 17-year-old says the fragrance is another way he can get closer to his fans. Let’s be real, the way a girl smells is very important to a guy! I have such a deep connection with my fans, so creating a fragrance that I personally love is another way I can bring them closer to my world.”
Proceeds from the sale of the scent are going towards a number of charities, including two of Bieber’s favourites: Pencils of Promise, which build schools, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Not only am I able to create a fragrance for all my fans, but I’m able to give me to charity, which is a huge priority for me,” he said.
With everything Bieber touching turning to gold, it’s no surprise that sales of the fragrance are expected to generate millions for retailers. According to WWD, while no official projections have been given, a landing in the top five on the fragrance charts would earn at least $30 million in retail in the US.
