Dyson has finally unveiled its newest beauty tool, adding a hair straightener to its lineup.
The Corrale Straightener is the result of a seven year, $32 million investment from the U.K.-based company. And much like Dyson’s cordless vacuums, the Corrale is a cord-free hair straightener that operates on a four-cell lithium-ion battery. The battery provides up to 30 minutes of use and can recharge in 70 minutes.
The product, which required more than 600 hours of user trials and more than 800 participants, has flexing plates that are meant to reduce both tension on hair strands and heat damage from styling.
“Since we first started developing the Dyson Supersonic hairdryer, we have continued to explore the science of style, seeking to understand what makes hair smooth, shiny, and glossy - and what makes it dull, damaged, and lifeless," said the company's founder and chief engineer, James Dyson, in a press release. "We have been worried about the style results and heat damage from flat plate straighteners."
Though the Corrale is on shelves this week in the U.K., Aussies will have to wait until April 24, 2020. It will be priced at $699.
