After moulding his career in the Bauer Media Group stables, the company must be happy about news that journalist Mark Brandon is returning home. Bauer has announced that Pacific Magazine’s New Idea deputy editor Mark Brandon has been hired as the editor of NW, starting in May.
With fifteen years experience in reporting for celebrity news magazines, Brandon began his journalism career at NW before moving over to Woman’s Day, OK!, and then New Idea.
The NW team is known as one of the hardest working in the industry and their dedication to the brand is evident on every page. I’m excited to be working with them and driving this strong, uniquely Australian brand into the future,” Brandon told Mumbrella.
Bauer weeklies portfolio publisher Jayne Ferguson adds, I am thrilled that Mark will be leading the NW team and steering the title into its 21st year. Mark is especially well placed to represent the brand and brings with him a depth and breadth of understanding in entertainment and celebrity journalism. His extensive media experience in the Australian magazine market and diverse industry knowledge make him a natural choice for the role.”
The new editorship announcement comes one week after news that Elle managing editor Jane Davies took a redundancy payout and departed from the magazine just four months after it launched in Australia.
