It's been announced that trade publication Mediaweek will cease publishing its weekly print magazine after 27 years and move to an online only model at the beginning of 2018.
With three months left to run, the final 12 issues will reportedly feature interviews and highlights from publication's 27 years. This month's editions will cover the 90s, November's will cover 2000-2010 and December's will share highlights from 2011 onwards.
The publication's owner James Manning told Mumbrella: "For some time, both Mediaweek readers and advertisers have preferred our digital platforms so the focus will now be directed there.
“Mediaweek will continue to publish via our Mediaweek Morning Report and mediaweek.com.au and we will soon release details of our premium subscription package for 2018 which will be at a lower price point for our supporters.”
In other publishing news, over at Luxury Escapes its been revealed that a print magazine will be launching in November with the aim to inspire more travel.
The luxury travel glossy will be distributed fortnightly to 500,000 homes across Melbourne and Sydney free of charge for a minimum of three months. the content will be an extension of what's on the website, that currently has two million global subscribers.
Luxury Escapes general manager Blake Hutchinson said the magazine would help fuel Australian's adventurous spirit with beautiful content and great travel deals.
“Readers can look forward to beautiful photography and content created by some of travel’s best writers, plus insider tips for travel, destination guides to the world’s most beautiful locations and the scoop on Luxury Escapes’ signature deals to amazing locations.
“It will be exciting to see the impact the new magazine will have on Australian holiday choices," Hutchinson said.
