Behind the make-up and hair looks for Myer

Kevin.Murphy and Illamasqua were on hand for the Myer autumn/winter collection launch, showcasing two distinctive hair and make-up looks to complement the stunning offerings from some of Australia’s top designers.

Hair director Murhpy says his inspiration for the show’s first look was hair that had been dampened by autumn showers. I didn't want the hair to look wet but more like it had been misted by soft April showers. I wanted the girls to look done but undone,” says Murphy.

The show’s second hair look was inspired by the garden nymphs of the 1920s. There is a lot of softness in the clothes so I wanted to keep the hair soft too. I was really interested in keeping the silhouette as small as possible and exposing the necklines,” reveals Murphy.

Make-up for the show was directed by UK based make-up artist Clare Lille for Illamasqua. Lille explains her first look was, A nod towards mid century looks but updated with modern touches. A very graphic look minus the retro feel that has been over done.”

Her second look was a fresh, dreamy romantic look. Defined lashes and sculpted skin. Bitten rose-stained lips.”
