MBFWA 2012: bec & bridge

Who: bec & bridge

When: 12pm, May 2. The Theatre, Overseas Passenger Terminal.

Inspiration: "The Spring Summer 12/13 bec & bridge collection has been inspired by the Amalfi Coast. In particular, the collection will draw on the Island of Capri's vivid colours, landscapes, architecture, wild bougainvillea and pure white light with a constant sea breeze."

Hair: Alan White for ghd

Hair style: "Pool side sophistication. We're imagining that our girl is on the Amalfi Coast - it's hot. She's had a dip in the pool, she's got out, she's lounging, she's just pulled her hair up and it's just dried naturally in the sun. A how-to is to fashion a really light S curl with the ghd Mini Styler and then as its cooling, just pull on the ends of the curl and it will just stretch the curl out a bit so it looks more natural. I've gone all the way through the head with that, and then towards the front of the face I've pushed it right on to the face in an A frame. Then I've put ghd Smooth and Finish serum all the way through from the midlengths, the roots, right the way through to the end. All sections, so I haven't missed any - there's no dry bits in there. Every girl has got saturated hair, not so much that it pulls the hair right out but it does relax it a little bit. Then we throw it up into a bungee at the back and then knot it and just pin it in. We then push a few pieces around the face, using the ghd Shine serum to attach to the face so it's really like they're just drying in the sun and their hair's all disheveled but has a little bit of definition. It's chic poolside sophistication," says Alan White.

Make-up: Nicole Thompson for

Make-up style: "We've got beautiful Mediterranean glossed out girls that have just stepped out of the water at the beach. Alan White for ghd is doing this amazing wet-look hair that's really tousled and is going to come right across the face, and we're using M.A.C glosses all over the face so the hair just sticks to it in the most perfect way. We've got lots of peach creams - we've used Something Special Creamblend Blush on the cheeks, on the eyes, on the lips. We've then used Freckletone Lipstick over the top for a really caramel-peach cream texture. Then we're adding gloss texture all over the face to give it a really nice shine - we're doing it on all the high points. With my fingers, I'm patting it on to the skin, through the brow, down the nose on to the lip - so as they turn, it's really reflective against the lighting so everything just looks wet and amazing. Before they jump out on to the catwalk, we're going to be using Fix + spray and we're going to be wetting their face completely so that all the colour comes through but with a wet lacquered finish," says Nicole Thompson.
