MBFWA 2012: Kirrily Johnston

Who: Kirrily Johnston

When: 1pm, Neild Avenue restaurant, Neild Avenue, Darlinghurst

Hair: Renya Xydis for Cloud 9

Hair style: "We're creating very flat dreadlocks, twisted with hairspray and flattened using the irons to the max. The inspiration is moroccan gypsy, so it's quite peasant looking. With the collection, Kirrily is going to have a lot of flowing outfits, so we're doing it down in dreadlocks. We are putting some of the girls' hair up using Kirrily's scarves and gold-dipped clips. We're using the large and small irons, and Evo's Helmut hairspray. This is definitely a look people can create at home."

Make-up: Nicole Thompson for M.A.C

Make-up style: "The inspiration for the whole collection and especially the make-up is moroccan gypsies. They're a little weathered but still extremely luxurious and beautiful. The make-up is all about shaping the face with highlighting and contouring - it's not about hard features or having anything too definite. Essentially it's very monochromatic make-up - we've used the same colours all over the face, so to create the contour and the shading around the eyes and bring it in around the temple, we've used some really warm blushes and eyeshadows. The idea is that it's sculpted but doesn't look harsh. We've highlighted the hell out the skin using pearl cream colour base on the tops of the cheekbones, on the brow bone, down the nose, on the bow of the lip, anywhere you want to highlight, really, and then we've brushed over the top with Silverdust to give a metallic edge. On the lips we have used Freckletone lipstick, and as with the rest of the face, it was all done with the fingers to give it a nice soft edge," says Nicole Thompson for M.A.C.
