Who: Lisa Ho
When: 9am, May 2, The Art Gallery of NSW.
Inspiration: Lisa Ho has been inspired by the theatricality of the Ballet Russes for her collection.
Hair: Kenneth Stoddart for Redken
Hair style: "Lisa wanted her models this season to look younger, that was quite crucial, she felt it was a much younger woman. Her collection is very colourful, there's a lot of print and clashing colours. So what we thought was a lot of young girls have very long hair at the moment and they don't get their hair cut, so they have very fun, uncut ends. So I wanted to keep the hair looking really thin on the ends, and I wanted to use colour in the hair that clashes with the clothes' colours. So what I've done is I've braided away all the underneath sections so I've taken away all the thickness of the hair, and I've pinned that flat to the head. Then I've glued in coloured human hair extensions all through the underneath, and then left the top layers of the models' own hair and ironed that over the top. It's dipped coloured ends, like the balayage trend but with colour. Through the part and the hairline where I want the hair controlled and clean I'm using Rootful, which dried really quick and keeps the hair where I want it to be without it looking like I've used any product," says Kenneth Stoddart for Redken.
Make-up: Linda Jefferyes for
Make-up style: "The Lisa Ho inspiration is all about theatre - it was very inspired by the Ballet Russes. So we've gone for this solid, smokey, dark teal blue eye. Lisa's used a lot of patterns and prints, so I've kind of grounded the make-up by using this dark blue eye. Kenneth is putting a lot of colour in the hair, so I didn't want to add another colour in and instead opted for strength. I'm sick of black which is why I went for this dark blue. On the eye, we used a pencil called Indigo, which I worked around the rim of the upper and lower part of the eye, and I smudged that out and then put the shadow on. By using a pencil first, it gives you a really good base and that gives you a great depth of colour. Then I've put the powder over the top. Otherwise, sometimes when you just use powders it can get a little patchy. We contoured cheeks with a colour called Sculpt - it's a really neutral colour and it's really great to contour the face with," says Linda Jefferyes for M.A.C.
