Who: Miss Unkon
When: 4pm, April 30. The Theatre, Overseas Passenger Terminal
Inspiration: "The show's called 'The Life Between' and the collection is about the magic you see in everyday. And we've married that back with a unique print in the collection. Miss Unkon's grown from this youthful young girl into a beautiful young woman," says Miss Unkon designer Courtney Meyer.
Hair: Craig Smith for
Hair style: "In terms of the hair we were talking about bringing it in line with the brand essence, and try and keep it very young and youthful but spirited. We're using different hair textures - Courtney has used a lot of different textures, so we thought we'd try and incorporate that in the hair. The different styles are governed by the length of the model's hair. They'll all begin with a ponytail on the top of their head and then all the hair will work forward - some will have a plait, some will have some stainless steel rings, some will have more of a rockabilly quiff. it's meant to be quite youthful and spirited. We're working with OSIS+ products from Schwarzkopf Professional to create lots of shine and gloss, plus the mandatory amount of hairspray at the end to lock it all in," says Craig Smith for Schwarzkopf.
Make-up: Napoleon Perdis for
Make-up style: "The look for Miss Unkon this year is a little more grown up than it has been previously. The look is a little bit tougher and the strength is all in the eyes. She carries that of-the-moment non-chalance as well. The look still works quite whimsically with the collection as well. To create the look, we're taking a black through all of the girls' brows - it's not really a strong, block-y brow, it's more of a wash of colour swept through. Then we're using tones of blue-grey and taupe-black on top of the eye, so there's not much happening underneath the eye, except for a tiny bit of definition to balance it a bit. The skin is really fresh and dewy and slightly luminous as well, which is a nice contrast against the eye, which is all matte. On the cheeks, we're doing cream contours of colours, so we're using a caramel tone under the cheekbone to contour, more of a peach tone on the apple and then a luminosity on the cheek, which will fuse together well," says Kate Squires for Napoleon Perdis.
