MBFWA 2012: Suboo

Who: Suboo

When: May 4, 9am. The Summit, 264 George St, Sydney

Inspiration: A place in the sun.

Hair: Robert Ham for

Hair style: "I met withe Sue, the designer, and we talked about the beautiful lines, colours and geometric shapes of the Suboo collection. Everything is 'a place in the sun' - keeping with that, Sue wanted everything to be very sleek, but not too resort wear. The looks have a little bit of a man aspect to them, in that there's rope with tubing on it to look slightly masculine, so I macraméd the back and sides of the hair into the ponytail and into that strong line. To do that, we used our Moroccanoil Treatment, as well as the Hydrating Styling Cream, which helps smooth the hair, and of course the Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray, because it has that extra shine and helps tame those flyaways. Then, just before the girls walk out, we're applying Glimmer Shine Spray - I'm going to spray it on the hair, and I'm also going to put it in my hand and slick it down the ponytail so it has a shellac finish," says Robert Ham for Moroccanoil.

Make-up: Liz Kelsh for Max Factor

Make-up style: "The origins of the Suboo label is beach umbrellas, and then they went into kaftans, and this is their first read-to-wear collection, so we wanted to pay homage to their beginnings, however we really didn't want it to be a beachy look at all - we wanted a fashion-forward look. So modern minimalism is the trend we're going for. We've seen this beautiful green colour through the collection a lot, so we grabbed that and we used the Max Factor Colour Effects range, and mixed it with a bit of water to make the colour more intense, then popped that in the centre of the lid and a little underneath. Then over the whole eye and the cheekbone we've put Vibrant Colour Effect Lip Gloss to give it a really beyond wet, diamond finish. That works with the light on the runway. On the skin we've used Second Skin Foundation, which gives good coverage but it is virtually undetectable, because we did want the look to have that freshness of the beach about it. Then a bit of Experience Mascara on the lashes for a nice clean finish, and that's it. Lips have been matted down with a bit of foundation to keep them simple and let the eyes stand out," says Liz Kelsh for Max Factor.
