The Auckland Showgrounds this month played home to more than 2500 beauty, spa and hair professionals, all packing in for the 2015 NZ Beauty Expo where they showcased their brand’s ranges and experts. While the final results from the weekend are yet to be calculated, an early analysis is looking positive.
The trending highlight for the weekend seemed to be based around visitors meeting experienced experts. NZ Therapist of the Year 2015 runner-up and show visitor Tegan Frost shared on social media: "I'm having the most amazing weekend jam packed full of amazing speakers, beautiful people full of passion for the beauty industry, and more knowledge than you can shake a stick at! I'm like a kid in a candy store!"
When it came to exhibitor's displays, this year it seems the bar was raised with colourful and interactive booths aplenty. The two large halls at the ASB Showgrounds were jam packed with the latest and the best in the industry including products, testing, expert advice, and demonstrations.
Show visitors were also treated to captivating performances by make-up artist Rae Morris, the Scruples Design Team, NZ Body Art Trust, and M∙A∙C New Zealand. Within the main exhibition hall were Demonstration Pods hosted by DMK and Derma Aesthetics, as well as Master Classes by international guests Rae Morris and Jazz Pampling.
Pampling was in hot demand this year, with her two-hour private class on Saturday selling out quickly. The eyebrow expert comments on the enthusiasm of New Zealand make-up and beauty therapists, saying: "New Zealand beauty therapists and make-up artists are dedicated, talented artists who come with an open mind and fabulous energy. It was an awesome weekend and I was honoured to be a part of the expo."
