NZ: Elise Wilson checks in with BDNZ

After her recent move to M2 magazine, beauty editor Elise Wilson is relishing the bi-monthly deadlines and how well the new role slots into her busy life. BDNZ has a quick chat to Wilson to get the lowdown...

How is the new job treating you?
I am loving my new role. I have just completed my first issue and I'm excited to see it on shelves in a couple of weeks.

What are the main differences between this beauty role and working at New Idea?
It would have to be the deadlines! M2 is bi-monthly, so I have more time to really research my features and make them longer and more in-depth. Working from home is also a bonus.

What does a typical day look like for you now?
I do yoga every day now, which is amazing. At the beginning of the week, I'm home and working on blog posts for my site, The Beauty Gloss, or researching/collating info for my upcoming M2 pages. Then from Wednesday to Saturday, I'm working as a hair and make-up artist on magazine photoshoots, weddings, special occasions... it changes every week! I love to be busy, but I feel I've got a perfect balance now.

Have the type of launches you go to changed at all?
I haven't noticed too much change yet. It's nice because M2 Woman is accessible to all women, but there's definitely a more luxe look and feel to it, which is great to incorporate in my pages.
